“THE MIDDLE AGES CHALLENGES YOU”

This is the new theme of the 2024 animations of the château de Saint Mesmin.

Sport is health! It is necessary every day because life is rough. The maintenance of the body includes physical exercises, team games, jousting that prepare for daily work, military training and leisure, not excluding the hygiene of the body after all these activities.

Eat well to feel fit and healthy. So cooking is an art of dietetics! Thanks to the virtues of cooked foods, we can prevent and cure while awakening the taste buds. It is also a prestigious art to amaze guests at large receptions.

A healthy body in a healthy mind! One can't go without the other for a perfect balance. One must cultivate and nourish one's moral force by knowledge : word games, puzzles, board games, riddles, science and arts to forge one's mind of iron.

The Middle Ages challenges you, daily animations

To mark the year 2024 as the year of organisation of the Summer Olympic Games in France, the Château de Saint Mesmin will be the theatre of “medieval challenges”. In the form of events, contests and games, the Middle Ages will be presented to the public as a “transitional” period in which men and women compete, leaving plenty of room for challenges:

So, from 7 July to 30 August, every day, during a summer visit, challenge the actors of the castle and “take off”!

IN THE LOWER YARD: Physical Challenges
Sport is health! It is necessary every day because life is rough. The maintenance of the body includes physical exercises, team games, jousting that prepare for daily work, military training and leisure, not to mention the hygiene of the body after all these activities.

IN THE KITCHEN: Culinary Challenges

A healthy body in a healthy mind! One does not go without the other for a perfect balance. One must cultivate and nourish one's moral force by knowledge: word games, riddles, board games, sciences and arts to forge one's mind of iron.

Also available at the reception: The great puzzle game of the castle
“Haro sur l’empoisonneur”, in the form of an investigation to unmask who poisoned Pierre de Montfaucon, the lord of the place. See you on 21 and 22 September for the European Heritage Days for culinary challenges at the castle of Saint Mesmin.

All medieval challenges will be allowed at the castle of Saint Mesmin, stories to "de(s)port" including for the Heritage Days where the culinary challenges will address flavours and dietetics.
