In the Middle Ages, the construction of a fortified castle was strategic: ramparts, moats, a keep, watchtowers, and a drawbridge were the basic fortified elements. Over time, comfort and hygiene were added, along with larger windows, grand staircases, and beautiful decorations. During wars, these fortresses became vulnerable to the constant advancement of artillery. Many castles were thus besieged, partially destroyed, and abandoned. It's quite an undertaking today to retrace their eventful histories. Stepping into the shoes of a builder, a set designer, or a mercenary, this vast, ongoing construction site will be shared with the actors throughout the summer—a truly unforgettable experience.

IN THE LODGE: Building!
The architect draws up the plans and is now only waiting for the workforce to begin construction on the castle: quarrymen, masons, carpenters, blacksmiths, and other tradespeople will be hired to complete this project. After discovering the different trades, materials, tools, and techniques used, all that remains is to roll up your sleeves and "contribute your stone to the building"!

IN THE CHAPEL: Embellishment!
"Adorning the stone transforms it into a marvel." The decorative artist opens the doors to his workshop. What a project, amidst brushes, molds, and sketches! With a rich palette of colors enhancing mosaic tiles, stained glass, frescoes and murals, tapestries, and sculptures, this veritable haven of creativity will undoubtedly improve the daily comfort of the castle's inhabitants and their families. Destroy!

IN THE BARN: Destroy!
"Kill two birds with one stone!" The captain and his men-at-arms have numerous assault strategies at their disposal to bring down the fortress. Besieging a castle is always possible, but it requires extra ingenuity: setting fire to the cannons, bombarding the ramparts, and ramming the gates... A true war of attrition, demanding strength, patience, and determination to achieve its goal!

Also available at home: The castle's great investigation game "In Quest of the Philosopher's Stone," (NEW SCENARIO) is to be shared with family or friends. In the manner of alchemists, you will have to find the ingredients to make the real recipe for the Elixir of "long life" to save, from an imminent death, Hugues de Montfaucon, son of the lord of the castle. A fun hour-long game to explore the castle while playing. There will no longer be a start of the game 1:30 a.m. after the site closes, i.e. after 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
